MJJ Tribute website - Publications

For years the TLC fanclub has published a quarterly 40-page magazine called: "Tribute". Untill the time came that Internet took over and it was financially not doable any more. In 2001 we co-published an unofficial MSG concert program and during the allegations we published two "MJ Times" newspapers to get unknown information out to the public during the trial against Michael.

We enjoyed putting them together and thought it would be nice to share all the magazines, the program, and newspapers we published with you through the Internet. We're most proud of the fact that Michael also enjoyed reading our fan magazine and that he thanked us for our support. As a matter of fact Michael enjoyed reading our fanzines so much that in July 1994 he requested us to send us 5 copies of each published magazine.

MJ Times vol.1 English

We are proud of the fact that the Michael Jackson newspaper "MJ Times" vol.1 has had a record breaking distribution of 1 million copies world-wide. The number 1 issue was published in 10 different languages.

MJ Times vol.1 Russia

We have distributed hard copies of the newspaper and made it available for download.

Followed by its success TLC did release the "MJ Times" vol. 2 focusing on the information about the trial that did not reach the public through the media.

MJ Times vol1. Iran

The MJ times vol.2 was only published in English due to the fact that the trial was coming to an end and Michael was vindicated.

Tribute magazine

Tribute n.1 1992

When we started in 1992, we first worked together with 2 other people. When we entered their exsisting club we changed the club's name into "The Legend" and the fan club logo was designed by me (Willy Gijsman). After the 2nd year we split up due to many disagreements and mismanagement and went ahead as "The Legend Continues", so we restarted the counting of the magazines.

Tribute n.2 1992

In total we have published 29 quarterly Tribute magazines. In those times we did not have any social media. Our magazines were the social media. So sometimes you would not read about facts or a story only after 2 or 3 months when the magazine came out. The magazines were still typed out on a typewriter. I remember our graphic designer was typing and editing for 2 full months, to have one month off and then had to start all over for the next magazine. It was all done by LOVE for MJ.

Tribute n.3 1992

As the fanclub grew we learned a lot and the magazines improved. The lay out improved, they were taken of the copy machine and instead were printed to get a better quality and we added color to the covers. Unfortunately we could not print them in full color as the fanclub membership was kept low to make it affordable for any fan around the world to join in.

Tribute n.4 1992

Right now I am in the middle of writing a book that will contain all of my stories that are published from the former Tribute magazines, as wel as new material that I haven't published yet. The stories that Michael also read and enjoyed. Much more will be added as it will be an autobiography. I want to share my stories for the new fans so they will get to know what it was like in those times to go to concerts, follow Michael and eventually meeting him. I want the older fans to relive those times. And I want to tell non fans that I do not only believe Michael is innnocent on any wrong doing, but that I know this as fact!!! Some of the lies that are circulating out there I take very personal as I was there in those moments. Michael was the most pure person I have ever met and there will never be another like him.
